HENS, CHICKENS and CACKLEBERRIES

Yes, this is a ceramic rooster and hen, but they are the only kind that I allow to sit on my buffet credenza in my house.  I grew up on a farm and we raised chickens . . yes, we did!  After they grew up enough and survived all the skunk invasions they were separated by my dad.  The "fryers" went into the fryer house where they grew up more and then ended up in the freezer.  The pullets went into the henhouse where they grew up and produced eggs.  We had 300 laying hens, my younger sister and I gathered eggs, cleaned them, helped my mom candle and package them and deliver them on her 2 egg routes in town. What a farm project!
